The funeral for Genevieve Misar, 90, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marshall. Dan Thimell will officiate. Burial will be in South Marshall Lions Cemetery. Arrangements are by Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home, Crescent.

She was born Jan. 31, 1918, near Okarche to Louie and Helen Smith Kostka and died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Shamrock Nursing Home, Kingfisher.

She was raised on a farm near Kingfisher and graduated from high school and Enid Business College in 1936.

She married Joseph Misar Oct. 19, 1937. They made their home on a farm near Marshall. She was a member of United Church of Christ, Marshall, and Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are one son, Terry Misar of Marshall; one daughter, Helen Hendman of Edmond; one granddaugher; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and an infant daughter.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marshall Cemetery, or Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1071, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
