John A. Doggett

John A. Doggett passed from this earth July 2, 20l0, at the age of 72. He was born January 3, 1938 in Mulhall, OK to Lloyd “Jim” and Anna "Tot" (Gibson) Doggett.
John graduated from Mulhall High School in 1955. He was active in FFA and wood shop. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army based in Alaska from April 11, 1956 thru April 15, 1958. He was honorably discharged. He lived in Mulhall and worked at the Co-op until 1965 and then moved to Banner, OK where he worked at the Co-op until 1969. He later moved to Yukon, OK and worked at Western Electric (AT&T) in Oklahoma City, OK for over 30 years in the communication field. John moved to Guthrie, OK in February, 1999 then retired from AT&T in 2001. John had a love for playing pool, country music, and all college & pro sports - especially OSU.
He is survived by one son, Chris L. Doggett of Guthrie; one brother, Harold Doggett and wife Janice of Perry, OK; his ex-wife, Wanda (Wells) Doggett of Guthrie; two nieces, Anna Whitney of Stillwater, OK and Susan Henderson & husband Bruce of Perry; one great niece, Taylor Whitney, of Stillwater; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Howe and Linda Conwell of Edmond, OK and Kathy Wells of Muskogee, OK; and many, many cousins and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dave Doggett; and three brothers-in-law, Jerry Howe, Clyde Wells, and Fred Conwell. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Pastor Adrian Pollard of United Methodist Church of Mulhall officiating. Interment will follow at Marshall Lions Cemetery-South in Marshall, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
