Jeremiah Smith died at the home of his son, Richard S. Smith, near Seward, last Saturday. He was born in Richmond, VA., June 15, 1810, married to Sarah Morris May 2, 1833. Ten children were born to them, five of whom are now living. He was a licensed minister of the Methodist church and followed his chosen profession for twenty-five years. The funeral services took place in the Congregational church in Seward Sunday afternoon. Sermon by Rev. John Crossley, of the Christian church.
