Edward Eugene Pickard, 70, passed away February 24, 2012. He was born May 26, 1941 in Seward, OK to Orlan and Stella Pickard.
Edward met Ernestine Priess in 1963 and they were married on July 5th of that year. To this union four children were born. They lived most of their lives in the Edmond-Guthrie areas. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Helen.
Edward is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ernestine of the home; four children, Terry Pickard and wife Bobbi of Sentinel, OK, Susan Doolin and husband Gary of Coyle, OK, Larry Pickard of Guthrie, OK, and Sherra Pickard of Guthrie; six grandchildren, Eddie Pickard and wife Lisa of Sentinel, Michael Doolin and wife Barbarina of Coyle, Casey Pickard of Sentinel, Jessica Doolin of Coyle, Terilyn Pickard of Canyon, TX, and Justin Pickard of Guthrie; two great-grandchildren, Jace Doolin and Jaycie Doolin both of Coyle; one step-granddaughter, Jaylah Short of Coyle; two brothers; one sister; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Seward Cemetery with Charles Armstrong of Christian Fellowship Church of Coyle officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
