Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Edward Bussard, 59, of Mulhall, OK will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Guthrie, OK with Reverend Denis Hanrahan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Mulhall. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Dennis was born on August 1, 1950 in Guthrie to Arthur L. and Gladys K. (Getman) Bussard. He died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his home.
Dennis served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He retired in July 2004 from the United States Postal Service after 34 years to farm full-time and enjoy his grandchildren. He also served for 20 years and retired from Mulhall Volunteer Fire Department.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 39 years Bonnie L. Bussard; son Dennis Bussard, Jr. and wife Codie of Mulhall; two daughters Jeri Day and husband Justin of Orlando, OK and Beth Kime and husband Terry of Mulhall; three sisters Karen Willoby and husband John of Eufaula, OK, Debbie Clark and husband Stan of Guthrie, OK, and Kathy Gallaway and husband Garye of Stillwater, OK; two brothers David Bussard and wife Linda of Orlando and Arthur Bussard, Jr. of Eufaula; and six grandchildren Paden, Madison, Paige, Tatum, Michel Anne, and Breelyn. Also he is survived by Winter Wiss of Mulhall, who was thought of as his own.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Carl Bussard.
Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Thursday, 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family greeting guests from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
