Audrey Myrtle Tarrant
(April 18, 1922 - December 22, 2013)

Funeral services for Audrey Myrtle Tarrant will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the First Christian Church of Crescent, Oklahoma. Audrey Myrtle DeJarnett was born April 18, 1922 south of Lovell, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Earl Guy DeJarnett and Myrtle Wareing DeJarnett. Audrey graduated from Marshall High School in 1940.

On August 25, 1943 Audrey and Ralph Vincent Tarrant were married. She was an accomplished seamstress and was well known for her cooking. She cooked and served the children of the Lovell School for several years. Audrey and Ralph took an active interest in the welfare of children, keeping foster children after their children were grown. They also enjoyed traveling extensively and have visited every state in the United States including Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands.

Audrey was an active participant in the Lovell Progressive Club for over 40 years and was an active participating member of the Lovell Christian Church until it closed in 1971. Audrey and Ralph then joined the Christian Church in Crescent where they took an active part.

Survivors include her children, Roxine Temple and husband Darrel of Glencoe, OK, Lynn Tarrant and wife Darsha of Lovell, OK, and Beverly Dearing and husband Wayne of Carrollton, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott and Cory Dearing, Deirdre Wulf, Justin Tarrant, Julita Nethon, Ryan Temple and Bobbi Krob and 20 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.

Cards, flowers, or memorials to the First Christian Church Building Fund can be sent to the First Christian Church in Crescent.

Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
