Funeral services for Ruth Goldie Phillips Travis, 80, of Crescent will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Abernathy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Biswell presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland-Knowles Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home.
Ruth was born February 18, 1920 in Guthrie to Newton Francis Cook and Margaret Lizzie Bray. She died February 14, 2001 in Guthrie.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent and was retired from the Crescent Nursing Home.
She married Frank Phillips February 28, 1936 in Guthrie. He preceded her in death in November 1977.
She married Harvey Travis September 29, 1979 in Crescent. He preceded her in death April 26, 1980.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Frankie Phillips of Crescent; four daughters, Dr. Leortta Hawk of Seligman, Missouri, Barbara Wolf and Bonnie Johnston, both of Crescent, and Shirley Sprague of Guthrie; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
