Claude Alvin Tarrant
(April 4, 1945 - May 25, 2009)
Claude Alvin Tarrant was born April 4, 1945 in Marshall, Oklahoma to Leslie and Myrtle (Sowles) Tarrant. He passed away May 25, 2009 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.
Claude was raised in Logan County and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1963. He joined the U.S. Army in 1969 and served two years in the Vietnam War before being Honorably Discharged in 1971. He worked in the oil field as a driller until he retired in 1994. Claude enjoyed reading his Bible, cooking, fishing, and was a pretty good shade tree mechanic.
Survivors include, wife, Dorothy of the home; one daughter, Claudette Tarrant of Stillwater; one son, Chad Tarrant of Norman; three sisters, Ina Richards, Evelyn Simpson, and Darlene Tharp; two brothers, George and Harry Tarrant; five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and Donald Tarrant, and by a sister, Faye Wolf.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 28, 2009 graveside at Oakland - Knowles Cemetery with Pastor Mark LeMarr officiating. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at abernathyaaron.com.
