James "Jim" J. Spencer
(December 18, 1926 - September 9, 2007)


James J. "Jim" Spencer, 80, passed away September 9, 2007. He was born December 18, 1926 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, to Jonathan L. and Nancy Ethel (Taylor Spencer. Jim was raised in Big Four Community in Kingfisher County. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his service, he worked for OG&E in Oklahoma City for 38 years, retiring in October 1987. Jim was an enthusiastic and avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beatrice Kester, and brothers Steve, J.C. and Harold Spencer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy, daughter Jamie Spencer and granddaughter Rachel Spencer, all of Yukon; sister-in-law Shirley Spencer of Midwest City; one nephew and seven nieces; long-time best friend Gene Ratcliff; and a host of other cherished family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 13, 2007 in the Abernathy-Aaron Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Hickory in Crescent. Interment will follow at Oakland - Knowles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local Alzheimer's Association, 5400 N. Grand Blvd. Suite 255, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
