Leta Louise Scovel
(November 13, 1942 - August 22, 2009)
Leta Louise Scovel was born November 13, 1942 in Independence, Kansas to Joe and Leta (Hopkins) McGuire. She passed away August 22, 2009 in Houston, Texas at the age of 66 years.
Leta grew up in Kansas and moved to Crescent in 1989. She was a wonderful caretaker helping out family through hard times. Family and friends always came first in her life. She enjoyed fishing, outdoors, planting flowers, bingo, and going to the Casino. Each week Leta and her family would get together and have a family meal, this was the highlight of her week.
Survivors include, one daughter, Christy Storman of Norman; one son, Craig Scovel of New Boston, TX; one brother, Bill McGuire of Independence, KS; two sisters, Colleen Perkins of Dearing, KS and Jolene Aikens of Independence, KS; three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and by one son, Kirk Scovel.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Brother John Lovett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland – Knowles Cemetery in Crescent. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
