Funeral services for Arthur R. Jones, 89, of Crescent will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2002 at Abernathy Funeral Chapel in Crescent with the Rev. Gerald Biswell officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland-Knowles Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home.
Jones was born December 24, 1912 in Crescent to Harley W. and Della (Channel) Jones. He died June 19, 2002 in Edmond.
He married Ella Miller on July 4, 1935.
Arthur retired from Tinker Air force Base. He was a life-time member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent.
Survivors include his wife, Ella, of the home; two sons, Frank Jones, Sr. of Arcadia and Garry L. Jones of Crescent; eight grandchildren, Frank Jones, Jr. of Houston, Robert D. Jones of Claremore, Penni Jones of Crescent, Mindi Jones of Little Hocking, Ohio, Charity Johnston of Lutz, Fla., Loyd Jones of Crescent, Lisa Fruge of Atlanta and Laura Clark of Lafayette, La.; 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Charles A. Jones, on November 5, 1989.
