Thelma Lee Swan
(September 7, 1911 - April 13, 2014)
Thelma Lee Swan passed from this earth on April 13, 2014 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was born September 7, 1911 and at an early age moved to Crescent.
In Crescent she meet and married Jesse Barber. This union brought forth six children. After Jesse’s death she married Willie James Swan and this union brought three sons, her husband’s daughter Hazel Barker and son Floyd Barber preceded her in death. She was a faithful and dedicated church member until her health failed.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorthy Prewitt and Bettye Simmons (Leon) of Kansas City, MO and Mary Barber of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Jesse Barber of Tulsa, OK, Allen Swan (Theresa) of St. Louis, MO, Willie Swan, Jr. (Mae) of Little Rock, AR, and Richard Swan of Cheyenne, WY; three sister-in-laws, Ethel Brooks and Lee Ella Washington both of Los Angeles, CA and Evelyn Beatty of Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephews and a host of grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Lighthouse Church of God in Christ with Pastor Engus Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakgrove Cemetery in Crescent.
