Donald "Don" Howard Stalder
(February 25, 1931 - August 2, 2013)
Donald "Don" Howard Stalder was born February 25, 1931 in Noelette, Texas to Lewis Emory and Evea Irene Stalder. He passed away August 2, 2013 at his home in Bethany, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.
Don moved to Oklahoma at a young age to the family farm west of Crescent. He attended and graduated from Dover Schools. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict. Honorably discharged from the Army he began working for the Union #94 as an insulation specialist and retired in 1985. Don spent the rest of his life enjoying his interest in gardening, playing pool, and dancing. He also loved all OU athletics.
Survivors include two daughters, Cyndy Spears of Yukon, Oklahoma and Lynda Stalder of Dallas, Texas; one son, Sterling Stalder of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His parents and a brother, Winston, precede him in death. The family would like to thank Betty White for all the love and extended care of Don for many years.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Rev, Chauncey Moody officiating. A public viewing will be 1:00 – 2:00 Tuesday at the Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
