David Lee Clymer

David Lee Clymer, 83, passed away peacefully in his home August 10, 2013 surrounded by family. He was born in Cresent, Oklahoma to Unie and Cora Clymer, October 26, 1929.
David never lacked a job. He served in the US Army. He, while in the Army, served in the Korean War where he received a Bronze Star. He was enlisted for three years and reenlisted for an additional two years. He attended leadership school. He worked many years at the Guthrie Daily Leader. He worked hauling and stacking hay for $.03 a bale, as a carpenter, printer at the Oklahoma Journal, and owned David’s woodlot.
David is preceded in death by his wife Helen Yvonne Clymer of 61 years, his parents Unie and Cora Clymer, 3 sisters Lois Anderson, Dolly Ruth Fowler, Norma Jean Sullivan, brother Elbert Clymer, and great- grandson Stephen Gonzales.
He is survived by his four children: David Wayne and Tammy Clymer, Patricia Lambright and John Coburn, Judy Johnson and Chuck Dyer, and Debra Holloway. He has 11 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren, and 1 great- great -grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Patsy Grimes, Cora Rains, Margaret Deaton and Gerald, his brothers Jimmy Clymer and Janice, Gary Clymer and Paula.
Services will be held at Smith Memorial Chapel, Guthrie, OK, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Cresent, OK. Ronald Paul Nelson will be officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Smith- Gallo Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from Noon until 8:00 P.M.
