Raymond L. Silvers, 92, died on January 30, 2018 in Perkins, OK. Family will greet friends at Strode Funeral Home on Sunday February 4, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. His funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Morris Heights Cemetery in Orlando, OK.

Raymond was born to Bill and Elva (Andrews) Silvers on October 28, 1925 on the family farm in Rural Mulhall, OK.

He married Alice Hunt in September of 1950 in Guthrie, OK she later passed in April of 1991. He then went on to marry Mamie Kinder in April of 1993 in Mountain View, AR she later passed in September of 2007. He attended Lonestar and Vassar Grade Schools and graduated from Mulhall High School. He went on and worked in the oilfield for numerous drilling contractors. Raymond was a longtime Cushing resident.

He was an Army Veteran of the WW2, served with the 84th Infantry Division; he fought in the battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the good conduct medal, combat infantry badge, European Theater Ribbon with 2 bronze battle stars and the Purple Heart.

Raymond is preceded in death by his Parents; both wives; Sister Darlene Warren and son Edwin Lee Silvers.

Raymond is survived by his son, David (Sharon) Silvers of Cushing; daughters, Lucy (Joe) Moore of Lawton, Linda (Curtis) Mason of Cushing; grandchildren, Andrew Burton, Aaron Burton, Jacob Mason, Sarah Cox, Alice Cottle, Amanda Caughern and Emily Abbott; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Mary) Silvers, Glenn (Phylis) Silvers; brother-in-law, Max Warren and sister-in-law Betty Dry.
