Leon Odell and Peggy Charlene Long were married for 25 years and left this life, as they lived, together, on June 8, 2009. Leon, born 9-8-38 in Billings, Oklahoma, worked as a mechanic, road construction and part time farmer during his career; Peggy, born 3-31-52 in Guthrie, Oklahoma was the full time farmer.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ruby Long. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, James & Lois Meeks.
They were survived by their children: LeAnn Jenkins, John Long, Larry Lawson, Michael Lawson, Danny Lawson, Jerry Lawson, and Tammy Countess. Grandchildren are: Justin Jenkins, James Long, Larry Long, Jennifer Jenkins, Bobby Long, Ashley Lawson, Lyndsee Lawson, Shelby Lawson, Acacia Beard, Camryn Lawson, Elizabeth Lawson, Brayden Lawson, Jaydn Countess, and yet to be born, Brennan Countess . Great Grandchildren: Jennah Jenkins, Isaac Long, Carson Long, Tristan Reed, and Madison Lawson.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2009 at Meridian Cemetery in Meridian, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie, Oklahoma. A dinner for family and close friends will follow at Bible Baptist Church in Guthrie.
