Jesse Glenn Whitson

Jesse Whitson passed away May 30th, 2008. He was born January 10th, 1949 in Elk City, Oklahoma.
He owned and operated several grocery stores, and meat markets in Texas before moving back to Oklahoma. He was then employed with Swedish Match Inc, for 10 years. Jesse is known throughout the neighborhood for his wonderful Christmas decorations and beautiful yard. When his yard was too full for more decorations he took over the neighbor’s yards as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Juanita Whitson, his daughter Tami Craig, granddaughter Shealynn J’eton Whitson and great-grandson Larry Braiden Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Whitson; two sons Kelly Whitson and wife Amy of Borger, TX, Kevin Whitson and wife Lisa of Dumas, TX; daughters Evelyn, and husband Kenton Norris, of Guthrie, OK, Tuesday Mayes of Guthrie, OK, Donna and husband Matt Mastalir of Moore, OK; brothers Dearol and wife Linda of Bowie, TX, Allen and wife Sharon of Amarillo, TX; sisters Charlotte Graham and husband Jackie of Pampa, TX, Sandra Fazioli and husband Joseph of Amarillo, TX; 11 grandchildren, Bridget Craig, Hannah and Rheagan Whitson, Kaile Whitson, Mitchell Manning, Amber Norris, Ashley, Kaycee and Emilee Evans, Mason and Madison Mastalir, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held at Smith Memorial Chapel in Guthrie, OK at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2nd; Rev. Bob Walker of Cathedral of the Hills Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie, OK. A memorial fund has been established at Tinker Credit Union.
