Graveside services for Carrie Mae Cullum, 86, of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park with her grandson, Mark Ham, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Community Funeral Home.
Cullum was born December 28, 1915 in Howe, Texas to Garland Spencer and Flora Mae (Sneed) Goforth. She died June 8, 2002 at Integrated Specialty Hospital in Edmond.
She married Clarence C. Cullum on December 24, 1936 in Howe, Texas.
The couple farmed in the Colbert area until their farm was taken for Lake Texoma. Clarence Cullum worked on Texoma Dam until its completion. The family later moved to Stidham, Okla., Princeton, Texas, Denison, Texas; Achille, Okla. and Durant and Shawnee, where Mr. Cullum farmed and was a terrace contractor. When the family moved to Oklahoma City in 1958, Mr. Cullum worked as a mechanic and later the couple owned their own shop on NE 23rd St.
Carrie enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and camping. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence C. Cullum, two sons, Jack Cleveland Cullum and wife Carol Ann of Oklahoma City and Bob Richard Cullum of Guthrie; two daughters, Wanda Carrie Townsend of Guthrie and Barbara Joyce Graham and husband Slick of Ruidoso Downs, N.M.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one brother, John Carl Goforth of Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters and one son-in-law, the Rev. Boyd Townsend.
Viewing for family and friends will take place Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, 1624 N. Pine in Guthrie.
