Etta Dusa Gooch

Etta Dusa Gooch, 88, passed away July 28, 2015. She was born July 31, 1926 in Excelsior Township, Kingfisher County to Walter Scott Tharp and Monta Faye (Clark) Tharp.
Dusa married Norval Robert Gooch on July 6, 1945. She attended Guthrie High School graduating in 1944. She worked alongside her loving husband in the Coast to Coast store for many years. They did extensive traveling including visiting countries around the world. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is remembered for her quick wit, meticulous housekeeping, quilting and amazing food.
Dusa was preceded in death by her husband Norval, sisters Helen Landis, Naomi Pickard, son-in-law Douglas Kent Smith and parents.
Dusa is survived by her children: Rex Gooch and wife Karen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Denise and husband Philip Orr, Pamela Smith of Guthrie; grandchildren: Amy Gooch of Centenial, CO, Russel Thomas and wife Lisa of Englewood, CO, Ginger and husband John Lijewski of Guthrie, Brandy and husband Steve Pearce of Guthrie, Scott Smith and wife Susan of Edmond, OK, Katresa and her husband Joel Montejanoof Oklahoma City. She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Chandler DeBenedictis, Samantha and Jack Thomas, Philip and Breena Lijewski, Blake Pearce, Baden Smith and Lily Montejano, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be August 1, 2015 at Abell Community Church, 6751 N Bryant, Guthrie at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lawrie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Friday at Smith- Gallo Funeral Home, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The casket will not be open at the service.
