Shirley Mae Dunbar

Shirley Mae Dunbar went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 3, 2016. She was born to Lorena and Elmer Holder in rural Seminole County on November 26, 1930 to Elmer and Lorena (Glass) Holder.
She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, OK, in 1948. On December 24, 1950, she married Lester W. Dunbar. After a successful decades long career at Tinker Air Force Base, Shirley retired in 1985 to an acreage in Logan County with Lester. In retirement, she enjoyed her family, friends, and her church.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 53 years, Lester.
She is survived by her son, Stan Dunbar, daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Randy Welch, brother and sister-in-law, Vern and Sherma Holder, grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Mark Owens, Jesse and Terrie Dunbar, Rachel Dunbar, and Chris Vogler as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 8, 2016 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Robby Robbins officiating. Arrangements are the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, it was Shirley's wish that a tree in her honor be planted.
