Robert Homer Smith, Jr.

The Lord saw that enough suffering had been done by his child, Robert H. Smith, Jr. and called him home on July 21, 2015. Robert was born in Jet, Oklahoma, to Robert and Wilma Smith.
Robert worked from the age of 15 following in his father’s footsteps of operating heavy equipment. His passion was pushing dirt, building oil field locations, building ponds, and leveling house sites.
This loving father, husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 49 years, Retia Dutcher Smith of the home, 2 children, Terry Smith and Tamra Ceballos and husband Pablo, 6 grandchildren: Nathan, Delia, Wayne, Wenceslao, Lance, and Taylor, 5 great-grandchildren: Hunter, McKenna, Paisley, Lane, and Payton. He is also survived by his sisters: Roberta Greenwell of Guthrie, Wilma Rose of Enid, Maxine Morton and husband Wylie of Guthrie, and Donna Stewart of Cushing. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard Smith, sister Mary Jo and his grandson Lance Ford.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 24, 2015 at Harmony Cemetery with Pastor John Punni officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
