Funeral services for Bobby R. Lowder of Guthrie, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 at Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. Marvin Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, west of Guthrie under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie.
Bobby was born on June 9, 1927 west of Guthrie to Ray and Lydia (Hasler) Lowder. He died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001 in Guthrie.
He grew up west of Guthrie, later moving to Tulsa working in the propane business. He also worked in the oil field and retired from University of Central Oklahoma. He was member of V.F.W. Post #4578.
He married Edith Hatfield on Oct. 8, 1950 in Henrietta, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Edith of the home; two daughters, Vicky and husband John Vance of Guthrie and Jo Ann and husband Kelly Sullivan of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, James Edward Lowder of Talala, Okla.; one brother, Leo Lowder and his wife Florence of Crescent; and four sisters, Betty Moore of Moore, Okla., Elma Ruth Lowe and husband Ralph of Odessa, Texas, Shirley Shepard and husband Richard of Edmond, Thelma Newburn and husband Mike of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday.
