Charles Arthur Ham

Charles A. Ham, 81, passed away March 21, 2015. He was born March 27, 1933, in Mudd, Oklahoma, to Roy and Flora Ham.
Charles served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 20 years of honorable service. After his service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He married Josie Tharp on June 10, 1956. Charles loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved Louis L’Amour books, John Wayne movies, and American history. His sparkling blue eyes, his quick wit and humility will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Charles is preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Jonas Canning and Simeon McIntyre; two brothers, Herbert and Carl (Lefty) Ham.
He is survived by his wife, Josie, children, Glenda Robinson of Edmond, Debra McCullough and husband David of Norman, Cheryl Canning and husband David of Guthrie, Charles (Donald) Ham and wife Sheila of St. Robert, Missouri, and Julia Ham of Guthrie; brother, John Ham and wife Noni of Edmond, and sister-in-law Vera Ham of Guthrie. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Harmony Cemetery in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you read a good book.
