Harold Gene Dighton

Born: September 21, 1935
Died: January 29, 2010

Harold Gene Dighton, 74, of Guthrie, OK died January 29, 2010 in Guthrie. He was born in Damon, OK on September 21, 1935 to Arthur L. and Ruth E. (Cline) Dighton.

Harold served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He earned a business degree for Central State College, presently known as University of Central Oklahoma. He retired from the U.S. General Accounting Office, now known as the Government Accountability Office, in 1990. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and hunting in Colorado.

He is survived by his wife Bessie Irene Dighton, three step-children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2010 at Poplar & Warner Church of Christ with Preacher Rob Lester officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
