Thomas Logan Trout
(April 4, 1933 - January 6, 2008)
Thomas Logan "Dick" Trout, III died January 6, 2008 at his home in Crescent, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 2 days. He was born April 4, 1933 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Thomas Logan and Ola Mae (Veal) Trout, Jr. He married Betty Block on November 15, 1953 in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Dick grew up in Cushing until he was in Jr. High and he then moved to Fox and attended High School. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17 in 1950. He served his country for 20 years and retired in 1970, having received The Army Commendation Metal and numerous Certificates of Commendation. He then began his career in the oil field as an oil pumper and retired from the oil business in 1990. Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting, car racing, boating, water skiing and most of all spending time with his brothers and sister. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crescent and a member of the American Legion in Oklahoma City. Dick was also a member of the Cherokee Stripers Square Dance Club and started the Crescent Square Dance Club named The Stanley Steamers.
Survivors include, his wife, Betty of the home; one daughter, Tommye Lou Ayers of Lawton; one sister, Linda Hamilton of Cushing and by two grandchildren, Aaron and Lorri Ayers. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Connie Jo Trout and by two brothers, Robert Jake and Bobby Jack Trout.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 graveside at the Crescent Cemetery with Rev. Roger Pitt officiating. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. Condolences may be sent to the family at abernathyaaron.com
