Veda O. Smith
(August 4, 1922 - July 20, 2008)

Veda Olive Smith passed from this life on July 20, 2008 at the Crescent Care Center. She was born in Kinta, Oklahoma on August 4, 1922. She was the sixth of David Arthur and Tommy Holland Webb’s ten children. She lived in Crescent and Logan County since childhood and was a longtime member of the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Crescent.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert Smith, a step-son, a grandson, and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Larry Hicks and wife Marcia of Tulsa, Delvin Hicks and wife June of Crescent, and Lorn Hicks and wife Sherry of Crescent. She is also survived by step-daughters Anita Webb and husband Jim of Jones and Patsy Murray and husband Donnie of Crescent. Also surviving are two brothers, Fred and Jim, sister Eva Gregory, sister-in-law Naomi Webb, and brothers-in-law Charlie Thomason and Ed Alcorn.

Veda was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to count.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Abernathy Aaron Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crescent Cemtery.
