Charles Walker Shore
(August 16, 1961 - September 18, 2015)

Charles Walker "Charlie" Shore, age 54 of Lexington, passed away following an automobile accident on Friday, September 18, 2015. He was born August 16, 1961 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of four children born to Billy Charles Shore and Sarah Alice (Cowart) Shore. Charlie grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1979. The next year he married Angela Christine Peery on September 29, 1980 in Purcell. Together they raised three children and made their home in Purcell until 1989 when they moved to Wichita, Kansas. They remained living in Wichita until 2002, before returning to Purcell. Over the years Charlie worked in the oil field and many of those years he was a derrick hand. Most recently he worked for his brother at Ross’s Lawn Service. Charlie loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He found great pleasure in cutting firewood and brush hogging on his family’s farm. He liked hunting, fishing and he especially enjoyed shooting turtles with his 22 rifle. Charlie also liked fast cars and had fun rebuilding engines. He was also known to be fun loving and he loved to pull pranks on his kids. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: Maternal grandparents, Walker S K and Sarah Elizabeth Cowart, Paternal grandparents, Charles Howard and Wilma Audrey Shore;

He is survived by: Wife, Angie Shore of the home; Parents, Bill and Alice Shore of Lexington; 1 Son, David Peery of Wayne; 2 Daughters, Stephanie Bennett and husband Alfred “Redd” of Wichita, KS, Erin Clapp and husband Edwin of Wichita, KS; 1 Brother, Ross Shore and wife Noell of Lexington; 2 Sisters, Sarah Pearson and husband Keith of Colorado, Mary Maddux and husband Jason of Purcell; 6 Grandchildren, Brendon Michael, Kelton Michael, Alexia Christine Marie, Bradley Michael, Mason Charles and Emmett Owen. Mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Scottie Peery of Purcell; Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also a host of friends.

A graveside memorial service will be October 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Crescent Cemetery in Crescent, Okla. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
