Lexy Lee (Hager) Fry was born in Acme, Oklahoma on September 25, 1925 to John and Lavone (Keller) Hager. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Crescent, Oklahoma where she attended elementary and high school. She was married to Donald Will Fry on June 27, 1941 in Crescent. To this union a son, Donald William, was born on March 26, 1942. Donald and Lexy with a young son "Donny" moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1942 where Donald worked for Beech Aircraft until he was drafted into the army. While her husband was serving overseas, Lexy returned to Crescent with her son to be near relatives.
The family returned to Wichita after the war where Donald resumed his career at Beech Aircraft and Lexy began a lengthy employment in the accounting department at Cessna Aircraft until 1969 when she and Donald moved to Salina, Kansas. While in Salina, Lexy worked at various jobs and assisted her husband in his business endeavors while also doing volunteer work.
In the early 1990's, she and Donald returned to Crescent where they had begun their married life together. Lexy and Donald were avid dog lovers and throughout the years adopted and cared for several pets especially miniature schnauzers.
Lexy passed away in Crescent on July 25, 2014, just 2 months before her 89th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, half sisters and her husband of over 71 years. She is survived by her only child, Donald and wife Roxie, two grandchildren, Jill Evans and John Fry, two great grandchildren, Ryan and Alison Evans all of Phoenix, Arizona as well as several nieces and nephews.
