Willie Mae Flatt
(April 27, 1925 - March 17, 2009)
Willie Mae Flatt, 83, of Crescent died March 17, 2009 at her daughters home in Cashion. She was born April 27, 1925 to Richard Wilson and Margia Haney (Camden) Boyles in Portales, New Mexico.
Willie married Cletis Cole and had four children during their 22 years of marriage, she then married Kenneth G. Flatt, whom preceded her in death in 1992 after 26 years of marriage. Willie was an avid reader, enjoying romance novels and would read a book a day. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and gardening. She was a member of the Cattleman’s Association in New Mexico.
Willie is survived by two sons: John M. Cole and wife Carol of Tulsa, Dale Cole and wife Debbie of Crescent; two daughters: Jo Brock and husband Leland of Crescent, Cleta Eminger and husband Marvin of Cashion; five step-children, Kenneth G. Flatt, Jr., Connie F. Harris, Kivan J. Flatt, Karmie Gideon, and Ronnie Flatt; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: John T. Boyles of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Richard W. Boyles of Lubbock, Tx.; four sisters: Marie Porter of Roswell, NM., Bonnie Henderson of Tulia, Tx., Martha Holcomb and husband Joe of Buena Park, Ca., and Evelyn Combs and husband George of Portales, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother, grandson, Jerry Brock, great-granddaughter Chloe Frame and grandson-in-law Michael Frame.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at the First Christian Church of Crescent with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Interment will follow at the Crescent Cemetery.
