Jerry Boyd Fisher
(January 3, 1944 - September 21, 2011)
Jerry Boyd Fisher was born January 3, 1944 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Boyd Wesley and Mary Lou (Murray) Fisher. He passed away September 21, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
Jerry was born and raised in Crescent and graduated from Crescent High School in 1962. He was All District Fullback and Football Team Captain his Senior year. Jerry then attended the University of Tulsa on a football scholarship and later graduated with a Drafting Degree. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. National Guard. On December 6, 1969 Jerry married Virginia "Sissie" Young in Marshall, OK. Jerry worked most of his life as a Ranch Foreman for several big ranches in different areas of Oklahoma. He returned to Crescent in 1988. He also worked in the Air Craft Industry and later retired. After retirement he started F & F Saddlery and built saddles for many years. Jerry enjoyed playing music, riding horses, roping, and pretty much anything he could do with his hands.
Survivors include his wife Virginia "Sissie" Fisher of the home; three sons, Trey Fisher and wife Sara of Hennessey, J.L. Fisher and wife Jennifer of Crescent, and Matt Fisher and wife Katie of Crescent; two brothers, Lucky Fisher and wife Vickie of Woodward, OK and Lyle Fisher and wife Carrie of Sand Springs, OK; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Corey, Haley, Trent, Stone, Rylan, and Kinsley. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2011 graveside at Crescent Cemetery with Pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. In lieu of flowers the family wish memorial donations be made to the First Christian Church of Crescent or Oklahoma Heart Foundation.
