Mildred June Ellis
(June 30, 1917 - December 16, 2007)
Mildred June Ellis died December 16, 2007 in Crescent, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 17 days. She was born June 30, 1917 on the family farm in Crescent, Oklahoma to Roy P. and Gladys (Billings) Blevins. She married Lawrence Ellis in Seward, Oklahoma in 1934, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1988.
Mildred was born and raised in the Crescent area where she worked on the family farm until 1959. Her and Lawrence bought the Tasty Freeze in Guthrie were they worked until it was sold in 1965. They then moved to Oklahoma City for 12 years and she worked in a Record Distributorship until her retirement. She then moved back to the farm and in 2000 she moved into town where she lived until her death. Mildred loved making home made bread and spending time with her family.
Survivors include, her son, Gary Ellis of Crescent; three grandchildren, Falon, Richard and Todd Ellis and by one great grandchild, Ryder Ellis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the First Christian Church, burial will follow in the Crescent Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial be made to The First Christian Church in Crescent.
