Charles Haskell Wilson was born September 28, 1930 in Wellston to Charles Wilson, Sr and Naomi (Bradshaw). He passed away September 8, 2022 in Edmond at the age of 91.
Charles grew up in Wellston where he attended school graduating with the Wellston Class of 1948. Upon graduation he joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard and served his country proudly in the Korean War. Charles married the love of his life, Joyce, along with her two sons Larry and Mark on November 22, 1963. He was a member of the Wellston First Baptist Church for many years later joining the Trinity Baptist Church. He also enjoyed the Wellston Senior Center for many years.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Naomi Wilson; wife of nearly 41 years, Joyce Wilson; and 3 sisters, Beatrice, Rosetta and Mary. Survivors include his sons, Larry Hunt and wife Bobbe of Wellston, Mark Hunt and wife Pam of Flower Mound, TX; sisters, Bernadine and husband Bob Schofield, Cheryl and husband Terry Hasty; grandsons, Chris Hunt (Chastity), Michael Hunt (Tracy), Nicholas Hunt (Kristin), Jason Hunt (Christine), Mitchell Hunt; great-grandchildren, Brandon Hunt, Brittnay (Brandon) Wright, Jasmyn (Kaleb) Culbertson, Kaitlyn Culbertson, Ashton Culbertson, Clay Newlun, Reilly Hunt, Addison (Alec) Hagar, Kolton Hunt, Lawson Hunt, Liddy Hunt; great-great-grandchildren, Leah and Ariya Wright, Fynn, Lennox and Ollie Newlun; along with numerous nieces nephews, other family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Lane Buckley officiating and interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
