Jimmy Sheets has passed after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer, on Saturday July 9, 2022, at the age of 60. Born on November 4, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to his two loving parents, Carolyn and Jim, and followed by brother Clay. Growing up he enjoyed riding motorcycles, doing magic tricks, showing livestock in local fairs, and playing sports.
In college he was recruited to play on the East Central University and Oklahoma City Midwest College Men’s Basketball Teams. He was also involved in a variety of activities, such as playing Christopher Wren in the play The Mousetrap, and being a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
He was a successful and charismatic businessman winning many awards in the logistics industry where he did sales, management, and owned his own company. He married Laurie Amen in 1984 and they started their own family. Jimmy enjoyed reading the good word, playing golf, listening to music, writing poems, and spending time with his family.
He was a faithful Christian, and we know that God is pleased to have one of His kind and generous angels back in his arms. He was very loved and will be dearly missed. Jimmy is survived by Laurie, their two children, Leslie and Wesley, and their three grandchildren: Anderson, Atlas, and Ayden.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
A funeral service will be held at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
