Thomas Wayne Myers

myers-t-w

January 4, 1938 ~ April 29, 2024

Thomas Wayne Myers, "Chief" CMSGT US AirForce was born January 4, 1938 in Neodesha, Kansas. He passed away April 29, 2024 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

Tommy Wayne was a born explorer, tinkerer, fix-it guy, question asker, fisherman, ornery, brilliant champion to all the people he loved. Loving son to Margie and Luther Myers, Tom had a charmed childhood following along with his parents, brother, Luther (Tunky) and sister Susie and a host (hundreds) of cousins, aunts and uncles.

He joined the U.S. AirForce in 1955 and then promptly married Frances Lowe, the mother of his two adored and cherished children, Emily and Ricky.

Besides his family, his work and service in the U.S. AirForce was his pride. As a Vietnam Veteran, he was the most patriotic and dedicated of citizens. In his retirement, he met and married Ruth Allen. They had twenty years of travel, work on the "farm" and visits with children and grandchildren together.

Hands down, he was the best father, Papa Tom, Uncle Tommy, brother, husband and Chief ever. Hope you catch the Big One.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Margie and Luther; brother, Tunky (Luther); his sweet granddaughter, Katie; stepchildren, Kevin and Susan Allen. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Myers; son, Richard Myers; daughter, Emily Carter (Robert); stepchildren, Peter Allen and Paul Allen; grandchildren, Madeline Schrock (Dan), Jenetta Davis, Patrick Manning (Heather), Jessica Carter, Katelyn Carter (Evan), John Carter (Angela), Nathan Myers (Darla Robbins Myers), Malissa Mackiewicz (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Olive Manning, Xzayvr, Derrick, Max, Zachary and Ralene.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 6, 2024 at Lehman Funeral Home and interment will follow at the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
