Lori Dawn Moulin Martin

martin-l-d

November 19, 1964 ~ January 27, 2025

Lori Dawn Martin, age 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Lori found out in late November that she had terminal cancer, and despite the quick progression of the disease, she was able to take the last few months spending time with her family. She is survived by her children; Dane, Dalton, and Darien Martin, Destini Harrison, and grandchild Vivian Harrison. Her mother, Gay Skeen, father, Andrew Moulin, and sister, Andrea Beasinger, and her partner, Tommy Threet.

Lori was born Lori Moulin on November 19, 1964 in Chandler, Oklahoma. Her childhood was greatly impacted by her family. She spoke often about the time spent with cousins, about spending every Sunday having family lunch at her grandmother's house, and how her grandpa called her "Twinkles".

Lori graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in business and spent much of her early career working with the Air Force as a civilian. She and her late husband, Steve Martin, moved multiple times during her time with the Air Force, living in Maryland, California, and eventually settling back in Oklahoma. There, she spent 12 years as a stay-at-home mom and raising her children.

Lori went back to school at Oklahoma City Community College to complete a bachelor's of science in Nursing in 2005. She spent the next 20 years of her career as an RN. She started out by working nights in the ICU, she then spent many years in home health as a nurse then as a Director of Nursing, and she eventually became the Palliative Care Coordinator for the VA where she has worked for the last year and a half.

Lori will be remembered by her large impact on those around her. She was a strong woman who always put others above herself. Her heart shone through her career as a nurse as she worked tirelessly to ensure that her patients received exceptional care.

She found joy in her family, and in continuing her grandmother's tradition of Sunday lunches with her own children. She spent much of her time with her cousins, and attended every birthday celebration for every extended family member that she was able. She also enjoyed going to the lake and spending time on the boat with Tommy.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Hillside Baptist church with interment following at Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston..
