Tommy Allen Bailey was born on August 28, 1942 to Thomas Woodrow and Dorothy Alma (Harris) Bailey in Wellston. He passed away January 9, 2024 in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his family at the age of 81.
Tom graduated with the Wellston High School class of 1960. He worked several jobs in his life beginning at the young age of 13. He worked jobs including harvesting, pipelining, road construction, and carpentry. He also started his own business, Bailey Construction, with his two sons, Scott and Steven.
Tom married Linda Lou Sudheimer on June 30th, 1962. Together they went on to have 7 children, Lori, Scott, Cheryl, JoBeth, Amy, Steven, and Shelly. He was married to Linda from 1962 until her death in 1979. Tom later married Patricia Stirlen and they were together for 37 years.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, telling great stories, playing cards, reading his bible, gardening, fishing, coon hunting, and playing in the dirt with his Bobcat.
Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Linda Bailey, father Thomas Woodrow Bailey, mother Dorothy Alma Harris Bailey, and grandchild Macy Miller.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Bailey, and his children Lori Hulet and husband Lance, Scott Bailey and wife Catherine, Cheryl Hover and husband Ted, JoBeth Miller and husband Alan, Amy Ramsey and husband Jim, Steven Bailey and wife Criste, Linda “Shelly” Sage and husband Doug, Misty Butler and husband Bill, as well as 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Bob Bailey and wife Carolyn, his sister Rosetta Hurst, and sister Kim Mitchell.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Carney First Assembly of God Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
