Gerald Wayne Watkins, 79 loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, December 7,2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He entered this world on May 11,1939, in Tryon, Oklahoma, born to Orval Freemont and Lennie May (Ely) Watkins. He married Loretta Lane on April 19, 1963 in Agra Oklahoma, at the First Baptist Church. Gerald loved the Lord and his family very much, served 25 years in the Army ,retired through the National Guard. 20 years at Ditch Witch, Perry Oklahoma. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108, Cushing, Oklahoma. Married 54 years to his loving wife, he loved fishing, camping, spending time with his family and friends. He loved to tell jokes & make you laugh. Heaven gained another angel and we will deeply miss him.
His wife, Loretta Watkins, parents, brothers, Gene Watkins, Gary Watkins , sister Wilmetta Waddell, niece Debbie Watkins, sister-in-Iaws, Carol Lane, Mary Ellen Watkins, great nephew, Jerry O'Kelly, preceded Gerald in death.
Survivors include, one daughter, Gina Dardis and husband Dwane; one son, Steve Watkins, three granddaughters, Kendra Whitfield and husband Mark, Kelsie Dardis and Mackenzie Watkins; one great great-granddaughter, Declyn Watkins; one sister and brother in-law Barbara & Frank Lane, brothers and sister in laws, Walter & Wanda Watkins, Jack & Cheryl Watkins; many nieces, nephews and a special nephew Thurston (TR) Lott; other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 12,2018, at the Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma, with Pastor Roger Lane officiating.
