Billy Wright was born in Avery, Oklahoma on January 25, 1924 and departed this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
Billy was the son of Everett E. and Esther K. (Theis) Wright. He was a Lincoln County resident all of his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Stroud, Oklahoma , graduated from Stroud High School and worked for Kerr McGee refinery in Cushing for 20 years as a First Class Instrument Technician and was self employed in an excavation business and a lifetime farmer. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and Sailed in the Pacific Theatre of the war. He married LaDoris Maxine Phillips on June 7, 1947 in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tony, one son in law, John Lau, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include, Wife, LaDoris of the home, Two Sons & Daughter in Laws, Carson & Gail Wright of Cushing, OK, Philip & Leona Wright of Chandler, OK, One Daughter & Son in Law, Darene & the Late John Lau of Stroud, OK, Seven Grandchildren, Danny & wife Jennifer Wright, Billy & wife Kristina Wright, Crystal & husband Butch Paine, Hank & wife Elizabeth Lau, Mike & wife Tammy Murphy, Steven Murphy, Gaylen & wife Dolly Murphy, Ten Great Grandchildren Other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church in Stroud, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Paul Ragle officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery, Stroud, Oklahoma under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud, Oklahoma.
