Daisy Mae Butcher Oakes

September 24, 1922 - September 6, 2018

Daisy Mae Oakes was born in Big Pond, Oklahoma on September 24, 1922 and went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2018 at the age of 95 years.

Daisy was the daughter of Fred and Martha (Ailey) Butcher. She was a resident of Stroud. Daisy was a member of the Assembly of God Church, founding member of the Hosanna Assembly of God in Stillwater. She worked for Katz Department Store in Stillwater retiring after 25 years as a sales clerk. Daisy and her husband established Oakes Service Center in Stillwater. She loved to be with her family, do quilting, ceramics and baking pies and cakes. She spent 25 years taking care of the Church Nursery in Stillwater. Daisy married Ernest O. "Bud" Oakes on May 26, 1945. He preceded her in death January 1, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include one daughter Beverly Clark and husband Cosby of Stroud, one son David Oakes and wife Pamela of Stillwater, nine grandchildren, Carissa, Cosby III & wife Philomena, Bethany, James, Michael & wife Mercy, Matthew & wife Angel, Joy & husband Andrew, Tamera & husband David, Tara & husband Joseph, twenty one great grandchildren, Kenneth, Cosby IV, William, Kaytlyn, Geoffrey, Brianna, Jaden, James Michael, Brittney, Mikayla, Lydia, Ayla, Macy, Jory, Toby, Rex, Savanna, Frances, Hayden, Parker and Cambel, one great great grandchild, Chloe,

Funeral Service will Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Stroud with Pastor Leroy Hawkins and Pastor Paul Ragle officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
