Patricia Ann Cockrum Niccum

March 7, 1939 - March 8, 2018

Patricia Ann Niccum, Stroud, Oklahoma, resident, was born March 7, 1939, in Yale, OK. She departed this life on March 8, 2018 , at her home in Stroud, at the age of 79 years.

Patricia was the daughter of Baron Charles Cockrum and Juanita Sybil (Jones) Cockrum. Pat graduated from Stroud High School and Central State University with Cum Laude honors. Pat retired from teaching school at Stroud Schools after 21 years. She was very active in her church, First Baptist of Stroud, with the youth groups and her Sunday School Class in many different areas. She loved to travel with Frank in their travel trailer to different states. On these trips they experienced some very interesting situations, but it did not stop them for looking for their next adventure. She also enjoyed her quilting club. In addition to quilting the quilting club spent many hours laughing, traveling, shopping, and sharing stories. Pat was also known to attend most of her grandchildren's events including basketball, softball, football games, track meets, band concerts, church events and graduations. Pat recently was teaching her granddaughters how to quilt and how to use a seam ripper. Patricia married Leroy Frank Niccum in Stroud on June 1, 1957 and they had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Pat and Frank moved to Michigan while he was in the Air Force , then moved back to Stroud for the remainder of her life.

Survivors include, husband Frank of the home, 2 daughters Betty and husband Brent Reavis of Holdenville, Karen and husband Curtis Stice of Bristow, 1 son James Niccum of Stroud, 4 granddaughters Breanna and husband Bobby Sanford of Wewoka, Jonna and husband Ian Blanski of Chandler, Cheyenne Reavis of Camden, AR, Kelsey and husband Austin Kuykendall of Bristow, 4 grandsons Dakota Stice of Bristow, Brian and wife Jessica Niccum of Shawnee, Anthony and wife Chelstie Niccum of Little Rock, AR, and Tyler Niccum of Kellyville. Three brothers Raymond and wife Jean Cockrum of Guthrie, Duane and wife Jane Cockrum of Surprise, AZ and Jeff and wife Susan Cockrum of Stroud, 1 brother-in-law Don and wife Linda Niccum of Stroud and numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Stroud with Rev. James Bond officiating. Burial at Stroud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
