KATIE SUE BOND

November 16, 1929 - June 30, 2018

Katie Sue Bond was born in Quinton, OK on November 16, 1929 to Fred Burton and Mollie Gladys (Hancock) Franklin. She passed from this life on June 30, 2018 at Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years.

She graduated from Stroud High School with the class of 1949.

Katie married Lawrence Wesley Bond June 10, 1953 and they made their first home in Stroud. Together they raised four children, Alvin Lee, Jimmy Leon, Teresa Sue and Joyce Lynn. In 1965, Lawrence moved Katie and family to the oilfields of Lovington, New Mexico. They lived in Lovington 17 years before retiring and moving home to their place south east of Stroud in 1982.

Katie Sue was a Christian, a member of Stroud Church of Christ where she and Lawrence worshipped faithfully until her health prevented it. She was a quiet spirit-with just a hint of mischief. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother and Mema who always had a bit of wisdom to share. Katie loved beautiful flowers and growing green plants. She was a talented cook who took joy in preparing delicious meals and feeding a crowd of loved ones in her humble kitchen. She will be missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bond parents, Fred and Gladys Franklin, one sister, Evelyn Quinton and one brother Freddie Franklin.

Survivors include, two sons, Alvin Bond and Julie Hawksworth of Stroud, Jimmy Bond of Coweta, two daughters, Teresa Bridgforth and Chief of Lovington, NM. Joyce Massey and Guy of Heath, Texas, sister-in-law, Julia Bond of Oklahoma City, brother-in- law Earl Bond and family of Stroud, one aunt, Wanda Miller of Florida. nine grandchildren, Tyson Massey, Chase (Cassie) Bridgforth, Evan (Melissa) Massey, Lauren Bridgforth, Skylar Massey, Cally Bond, (Dustin) Kendra Steele, Kenny (Kristy) Parrick, Patrick (Jessica) Parrick, great grandchildren, Garrett and Morgan Steel, Gage and Kenlee Parrick, Kailea , Charley , Anna and Paislee Parrick. and James Chief Bridgforth, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ in Stroud on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. with Pastor James Bond and Loren Geiger officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
