Dee Soderstrom, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on August 27, 1932, in Ward, Arkansas, and departed this life on August 1, 2018, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.
Dee was the daughter of Arthur Bryant Collins and Mary Aveline (Tucker) Collins. She married Sven Soderstrom on May 2, 1953, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Dee and Sven were married 53. Dee worked at Kiddie Korner Daycare in Chandler for many years and was affectionately called "Grandma Dee" by all the children. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and loved taking care of her grandkids. Dee will be greatly missed.
Her husband, Sven; one son, Timothy; parents, Arthur and Mary Collins; two brothers, Ronnie and Johnny Collins; two half-brothers, Bill Collins and Arthur Collins Jr.; and one sister Fern Williams preceded Dee in death.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, De Ann and Stan Addy; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Traci Soderstrom, Gary Soderstrom, Ted and Tricia Soderstrom; grandchildren, Nikki Flanagan, Kyle Addy, Sarah Soderstrom-Bridge, Laura Dobry, William Soderstrom, Matthew Soderstrom, Baylea Wilson, Nathan Osbourne, Justin Soderstrom, Shelby Soderstrom, Harlee Soderstrom, Kaycee Soderstrom, and Lily Soderstrom; great-grand children, Tyler, Taylor, Lane, Tucker, Madelyn, Holden, Tripp, Brylie, Corbin, Collin, Briar, Ella, Cara and one due December 2018; one brother, Tommy Collins, three sisters, Freda Bales, Pat Brewer, and Nataline Collins of Chandler; numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Star Valley Cemetery in Chandler, with Brother Tom Wright officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
The Soderstrom family will be receiving friends and family at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 4, 2018, 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
