GLORIA JEAN ELLIS

March 12, 1951 - June 27, 2018

Gloria Jean Ellis, was born on March 12, 1951, in Pawnee, Oklahoma and departed this life on June 27, 2018 in Midwest City. Gloria was the daughter of Edgar and Myrtle (McKinney) Ellis. She was a resident of Shawnee and a member of the Sac and Fox Nation. Gloria was affectionately known by everyone who knew her as “Memaw.” She was known by many to have a kind and caring heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed singing, sewing and cooking for her friends and family.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Lee Thomas III; two brothers, Melvin "Butch" Ellis and Virgil Ellis; three sisters, Mildred Marcelino, Gail Merez and Joyce Burgess and a grandson, Robert Thomas IV.

She is survived by her life partner, Jeffrey Miller; daughter, Tera Harjo; daughter-in-law, Valerie Thomas; granddaughters, Whitney Thomas, Madison Thomas, Esperanza Harjo and Andrea Delgado; grandsons, Nathan Harjo, Christian Thomas, Juan Delgado III, Alejandro Garcia and Luciano Garcia; brothers; Elvis Ellis, Jackson Ellis and Leroy Ellis; sisters, Lela Lopez and Peggy Ellis and great-grandchildren, Esme Stidham, Embrie Stidham and Emelia Stidham. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 9:00 AM, at the Sac and Fox Nation Community Building in Stroud, Oklahoma and internment will follow at Sac and Fox Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
