Melvin Ray Peace passed away on August 24, 2024, at home in Morristown, Arizona. Melvin was born February 16, 1939, on the family farm east of Rossville, Oklahoma to Helmuth and Ethel (Arrant) Peace. He graduated from Chandler High School, Chandler, Oklahoma in 1957, and moved to California shortly after graduation. Melvin joined the Army in May 1962, and served for two years. After leaving the Army, Melvin continued living in California.
Melvin worked several jobs until he went to work for Morton Safety where he worked many years until his retirement. following retirement, Melvin moved in with his niece Karen Woods and her husband Butch in Morristown, Arizona. He enjoyed his family and his summer vacations in Oklahoma with Bennie and Jim and his Oklahoma family.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents Helmuth Peace and Ethel Darnell; brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Minnie Peace; brother Helmuth Peace Jr.; sister and brother-in-law Della Mae and Robert (Bob) Milner; sister and brother-in-law Bennie and Jim Pattison. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Corene and John Johnson and many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by many.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Rossville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
