Robert Stephen Ashcraft departed this earthly life on October 22, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born to Robert and Elsie Ashcraft on April 9, 1956, in Meeker, OK.
Bobby grew up in what was known as Midlothian, OK. After graduating from Chandler High School in 1974, he joined the Oklahoma National Guard. He then served in the U.S. Army, enjoying his time stationed at Fort Carson, CO.
Beginning in childhood, Bobby demonstrated a friendly demeanor and carefree spirit. Once, as a child, he managed to smile even as his broken arm swung at his side. There were no strangers to Bobby, and he loved swapping stories. He could meet someone for the first time and tell you everything about them. Bobby lived an active lifestyle that included outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and bicycling. At one time, he was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed road trips with friends.
A beloved brother, cousin, and friend, Bobby was also a "funkle", the fun uncle. He was always ready to take his nieces and nephews on walks outside, sometimes on railroad tracks. He enjoyed laughing, playing games, and spending time with relatives and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsie Ashcraft, and sister, Virginia Holleman.
Bobby is survived by his siblings, brother Donald Ashcraft; sister Sue Shipley and husband Jerry; brother Danny Ashcraft and wife Rosie; brother Tim Ashcraft and wife Doris; brother-in-law Marvin Holleman; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bobby was a joyful presence in the lives of those who knew him and will be missed by many.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the funeral home with interment following in the Rossville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
