Glen D. Carpenter
Service representative for Oklahoma Natural Gas Glen D. Carpenter, Prague, died Wednesday in Shawnee at the age of 58.
The lifelong Prague resident was born December 1, 1939 in Castle, to Jimmie Cornelius and Cleo Vadie {Adams} Carpenter.
He graduated from Prague High School in 1958 and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1963.
Glen married Marcella A. Turnbull on February 8, 1964, in Prague.
He began working for Oklahoma Natural Gas in January 1964 and served as a service representative for Prague, Meeker and Paden through February of this year.
He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Carpenter of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy and Michele Carpenter of Edmond; Rusty Carpenter of Prague; Gary and Gayla Carpenter of Oklahoma City; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Mary Carpenter of Prague; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Harvey Bates of Prague; a brother-in-law and his wife, John and Jean Turnbull of Wellston; a granddaughter, Morgan Bunch-Carpenter of Oklahoma City; three nephews, four nieces, and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters-in-law and a nephew.
A wake will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague with the Rev. Adrian Vorderlandwehr officiating.
Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery in Prague under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
