Nicki Wayne West

west-n-w

January 29, 1965 ~ August 14, 2023

Nicki Wayne West, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the age of 58. Nick was born on January 29, 1965 in Shawnee to Leonard Wayne and Ginger Lee (Rogers) West. Nick married Donna Jean "DJ" Webb on June 11, 1993 and the couple have been happily married for more than 30 years. Together, they have three children, Ashley, Austin and Arin.

Nick was well known and admired for his work ethic and willingness to take on and master any task. He has worked for the Action Safety Supply Company for the past seven years. With his hard work, preparation and leading ability, Nick worked his way up to leading and supervising the permanent sign installation team across the state of Oklahoma. Nick took great pride in his work and even more so in his team's success. He valued organization and preparedness and successfully passed those on to the employees he trained and mentored under his supervision.

Nick never did anything halfhearted, whatever it was, he put his heart and soul into it. He was passionate about music, especially his "bromance" with Bret Michaels. He was also passionate about his favorite sports. As a young man, he was a skilled baseball player, where he had the opportunity to play for the Oklahoma City 89ers. He passed his love for baseball on to his children and then his grandchildren, and he also passed on his beloved #5 uniform number. Every Saturday in the fall, everyone knew you would find Nick cheering on his beloved Oklahoma Sooner football team. He loved hosting watch parties for both Sooner and Oklahoma City Thunder games.

Nick's greatest passion was that of his family and friends. He was devoted to them in every way. He was their constant and their rock. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it. Nick was great husband and father and great "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren and the beloved "Uncle Trick" to his nieces and nephews. Whether you were his relative by blood or by marriage, it didn't matter to Nick, you were just family.

Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilburn and Evelyn West and his maternal grandparents, George Herbert and Rosalee Rogers.

Those left to cherish Nick's memory are his loving wife of more than 30 years, Donna "DJ" West of the home; his father and his longtime companion, Leonard Wayne and Irene of Stonewall; his mother, Ginger Lee (Rogers) West of Shawnee; five children, Ashley Ragsdale and her husband, Chandler, of Prague, Austin West and his wife, Elizabeth, of Prague, Arin West and his longtime girlfriend, Kylie Willis of Prague/Edmond, Jamie Schulze and her children and Kimber Howard and her children; three grandchildren, Wyatt Wayne West, Mia Marie West and Malia Machelle West; two brothers, Scottie West of Shawnee and Rikki West and his wife, Trisha, of Yukon; his mother-in-law, Donna Davidson of Prague; his brother-in-law, Rocky Webb and his wife, Diane, of Choctaw; two sisters-in-law, Darla Bias of Prague and Marenda Irick of Prague and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Prague. Elaine Croucher will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Prague Cemetery. The family will accept guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague. An online guestbook is available at www.parksbrothers.net
