August 1, 1941 ~ August 14, 2022

Judith "Judy" Faye (Nosalek) Sikes, a longtime resident of Prague, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 81. She was born to Earl L. and Helen Faye (Shreves) Nosalek on August 1, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas.

At the end of World War II, her family moved back to Lincoln County, where Judy attended Meeker and then Prague schools. She graduated in 1959 at Prague High School. She was active throughout her childhood in many activities including dance, band and FHA. She often said "If I am this graceful now, imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn't had 18 years of dance"

After high school, Judy attended the St. Anthony School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1963. Later that fall, she married Arthur "Art" Troy Sikes on October 17, 1963 at the First Baptist Church of Prague.

Judy was a nurse at heart with a calling for taking care of others. She served the Prague area first as a nurse at the local hospital, then as the Director of Nursing at the nursing home, and finally as a home health nurse. Even after retirement she continued to help others by joining the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Team as a volunteer where she and her husband traveled to different areas that had been affected by natural disasters.

The couple were long time members of the First Baptist Church. Judy was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society and was honored to serve on the Friends of The Library Board.

Judy loved to travel abroad, especially cruises, relishing in the adventure of exploring new places. She enjoyed watching and talking about sports. She especially enjoyed cheering on O.U. and the OKC Thunders. We expect her spirit to cheer on.

She was known for her loving and feisty spirit. Her stories, passion and wisdom will be greatly missed by many.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of more than 39 years, Arthur Sikes and one daughter, Mary Beth Bryne.

She is survived by one son, Michael Sikes and his wife, Marla; one daughter, Megan Jackson; six grandchildren, Tyler Sikes, Allie Sikes, Harrison Sikes, Sarah Sikes, Emily Jumper and her husband, Gus; and Kendra Jackson; one great-grandchild, Hudson Jumper; one brother, Danny Nosalek and his wife, Leia; her beloved pup, Scamp, and a host of family and friends.
