November 15, 1939 ~ Janruary 19, 2022

Linda Faye (Linville) Gregory, 82, a life-long resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on January 19, 2022, surrounded by her family, in Prague.

Linda was born on November 15, 1939, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Arthur N. and Dorothy Christine (Pearson) Linville. She grew up in Prague, graduating from Prague High School in 1957. She later returned to Ada to attend what was then East Central State College, now East Central University.

Linda married Freddie Gene Gregory on June 4, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Prague. They were married for 45 years before Freddie’s passing in 2006.

Linda spent many years as a legal assistant. She also held positions as the city clerk in Prague, as well as Prague city judge. The most important priority in Linda’s life was her family, and her favorite role was that of “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda never missed her grandchildren’s ball games. She was easy to find in the stands as she was always the loudest to cheer their teams on or point out to the officials the obvious incorrect calls that were made. Linda loved to cook, and no one ever stopped by her house that didn’t look hungry to her. She was always ready to “whip something up” and no one ever left her house hungry. She loved watching her birds from her back room and letting her bird feeders get empty was out of the question as she usually bought bird seed in 50-pound bags! She also loved to fish, garden and tend to her flower beds, most particularly her rose moss.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur N. and Dorothy Linville; her husband, Freddie G. Gregory; a brother, Alford Linville; and her grandson, Zachary Ellis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mitchell Gregory and his wife, Vicki; her daughter, Lori Standley and her husband, Todd; her brothers, Lloyd Wayne Linville and his wife, Donna, and Danny Lee Linville and his wife, Kealise; grandsons, Nathan Ellis and his wife, Lindsey, Seth Cooper, Dustin Cooper, and Joe Dansby and his wife, Angela; great-grandsons, Dax Dansby, and Deacon Dansby; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
