Lena Lavonne Heinzig Dukes

Lena Lavonne (Heinzig) Dukes, was born in the township of Old Dent, near Prague on January 9, 1936 and departed this life quietly in her home on November 13, 2021. She was 85 years of age. Lavonne was the daughter of John and Myrtle (Mobley) Heinzig. She married Ledoy J Dukes on March 10, 1956. They were married for 65 wonderful years. Lavonne graduated from Prague Schools with the class of 1954. During her high school years she worked in her mother's dress shop “Heinzig Style Shop,” in Prague. She graduated from Droan Business College in Oklahoma City and worked at the Better Business Bureau, Sylvania and Bailey & Craig Insurance in Shawnee. In 1969, Ledoy and Lavonne purchased the Family Dairy Farm from his parents Lee & Opal Dukes. They worked side by side milking cows and raising two daughters on the farm. Lavonne loved her family and loved having family dinners at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church Prague. Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clyde Heinzig and Harold Heinzig; sister in law Bonnie Heinzig; brother in law Levoy Dukes and Leonard Dukes. Survivors include husband of 65 years Ledoy Dukes of the home; daughters Annette & Johnny Schima, Prague; Linda & Trey Cash, Prague; Grandson Timothy & Jorjia Cash, Ada and Great Grand Daughter Feyre Kathleen Cash; sister in law Sandra Sue Dukes and Vera Dukes, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services, with Brother Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
